Do you need a high school diploma for phlebotomy classes? The answer is no. At some programs, you can begin your phlebotomy career early while you’re still in high school.
The key words here are “some programs.”
All colleges and most phlebotomy training centers require either a high school diploma or an equivalent, like a General Educational Development (GED) certification. This prerequisite is not flexible, so students who haven’t yet met it are out of luck, even if they know they want to enter the field.
There’s only one option in Denton, Texas.
Our school, NTX Training Institute, is the only one in Denton, and one of the few in Texas, that allows high schoolers to enroll.
Our prerequisites are simple:
- A high school diploma,
- GED, or
- Permission from a parent.
Any of these three options is acceptable. Yes, most of our students who come through NTX have finished high school or obtained a GED, but it’s not required.
If you’re interested in starting your phlebotomy career early, we can jumpstart the process.
At NTX, all we require is a consent form.
As long as you have a consent form signed by a parent, you can enroll in our seven-week phlebotomy training program. NTX provides the consent form. All you need is a signature. It’s a quick, seamless process.
We offer day and night classes.
You’ll be able to find a class time that fits your schedule, even if you’re still finishing your high school classwork. Simply choose the cohort that fits your schedule.
Phlebotomy training makes sense.
In 2024, phlebotomists will be sought after at healthcare facilities like hospitals, clinics, and blood donation centers.
That demand is only going to grow as our demographics shift, with nursing homes, assisted living facilities, and diagnostic labs expected to offer more job opportunities over the next ten years.
NTX Training Institute is Denton’s leading phlebotomy training center.
If you’re in Denton and want to begin your career in phlebotomy before you have a high school diploma, there’s only one choice: NTX Training Institute.
We offer zero-interest payment plans and career development scholarships to make our programs more affordable.
At the conclusion of your program, you can take the Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) exam in class. Then, you’ll hit the ground running on your new career.
