Do you need a high school diploma for phlebotomy classes? The answer is no. At some programs, you can begin your phlebotomy career early while you’re still in high school.
The key words here are “some programs.”
All colleges and most phlebotomy training centers require either a high school diploma or an equivalent, like a General Educational Development (GED) certification. This prerequisite is not flexible, so students who haven’t yet met it are out of luck, even if they know they want to enter the field.

Our prerequisites are simple:

Any of these three options is acceptable. Yes, most of our students who come through NTX have finished high school or obtained a GED, but it’s not required.
